JFK and ZoulsKids

Happy Sunday, Everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful time right now with your loved ones. It's almost 9 pm now in Jakarta. Suddenly I remembered I have never mentioned to you that my kids: Josh, Faye and Kaleb has their own music band. It's called "ZoulsKids". They have doing some mission trips and they are about to do it again, next month, on November 2012, to Ambon and Saparua Island in Maluku or Moluccas. Below are some pictures on their trip to the music studio for rehearsal and the activity of some. As you can see, Josh was on the drums, Faye as singer, Noah (cousin) as guitarist and Jordan (cousin) as bassist. These pictures were taken somewhere last year. Time flies so fast, doesn't it? ^^

Homeschooling?

It took us three years research to finally made up our mind about homeschooling our children, Josh, Faye and Kaleb. You might be wondering why. The answers is: IT'S FUN! --for the children and the parents. There are better and proper answers, yes, but at this moment, that's all I can break to you. The children love it, mainly because they are allowed to organize themselves, study by their own schedule and be responsible about it, they have the time of their life and learn to use it in a good way -- children: play AND study are EQUALLY important. It brings goodness not just to the children but also the parents -- learn to enrich ourselves, living the values we taught, accepting the fact that a child is unique and different from the other child. It's an enormous change of our life! Well, thank you for reading this, any question, just ask away!

Thank God It's Friday!

Yup! TGIF! Friday would be the day we all expecting.. As Friday is the beginning of weekend, where all the fun begins ^^ For us at The Arrows, Friday is the English day. English is a mandatory for ALL of us. Anyone who doesn't speak in this particular languange, would receive a severe punishment -- just kidding ^^ Below is Faye's drawing :) Well, enjoy your Friday! Trust it will be magic! Hugs from us at The Arrows!

Faye, Got Talent 2012!

I love to see the joy in a kid's eyes. I love to see how they smile when they're happy about something they've achieved. I love to see the sparkling of tears of happiness when they know their prayer has been answered.I saw all of that in my daughter, Faye. This short story begins last year, July 2011 when she competed in Got Talent 2011 along with her big brother Josh and some of her friends of Sunday School GBI Sudirman. After many months of practicing, vocal trainings, choosing right song to sing, she did make it to the Final of Got talent 2011 but failed to win. Josh did win the first place. Faye was crushed, sad and crying. Me and her Dad tried to comfort and encouraged her, knowing that God has other plans, other lesson in our life, especially in Faye's. For a year, Faye did her training to sing better, and also learned to play guitar. She was so excited when Got Talent 2012 finally took place. She joined the competition once again, as a singer/musician/composer and this time Josh took part also as her drummer, Papa Nyong as leading keys, Papa Arthur as guitarist and Uncle Toby as bassist. Faye was singing her own song while playing guitar. She won the first place! She knew then, that all of her works and prayers were not in vain. If this is a song that I am singing, we might come back to the first paragraph. I love to see... ^^ Enjoy the video of Faye on Got Talent 2012!

Josh on The Drums! Ambon Jazz Plus Festival 2011

Again, a simple apologize from me for being so ignorant about the existence of this precious blog. I'm sure you will forgive me ^^ These pictures you are seeing were taken last year, on October 9, 2011 at the annual Ambon Jazz Plus Festival. Josh were performing his solo to the AJPF audience and got published in a local newspaper, Maluku Express. We thanked God for the opportunity He's given to Josh in order to learn and grow in his given talent. As the time is moving fast, AJPF is coming again next week in Ambon, October 11-13, 2012. Our hope, this AJPF will fulfill its mission: shifting the paradigm and building the generation thru music. Enjoy reading the article, God bless us all.

Faye's First..

ZIT! Haha.. She's having her first zit since yesterday. Main rules about zit: never touch it with your finger or any other object. Just let it be on its own. Yeap, that's it. :)

An Afternoon Stroll pt.2

JFK with Daddy. Glad I took this pic :)

An Afternoon Stroll pt.1

JFK's one of fave days, an afternoon stroll! After lunch at Warung Lovina, Kemang --famous for their 'Grilled Fish ala Balinese' with complimentary Balinese pancake-- we then went to Dharmawangsa Square, an exclusive mall yet homey. Took a sip of Coffee Latte at Tator Kafe, bought (another) lightning toy balls then strolled down the road as the rain began to fall. As you can see here, they had an amazing time, yep, it might be raining but these three just wouldn't stop :)

On The Drum!

This is my eldest son, Josh, doing his daily drum exercise. He started this intensive exercise since December 2010, but he actually became fond of it since he was nearly 3 years old. Then, he could play several beats and songs. Now, he played 2-3 hours everyday, started on his own, every morning right after he woke up, prayed and had his breakfast. He will then countinue with his academics subjects. Josh is now 12, but the responsibility he has shown is more mature for a child at his age. I am very proud of him. Thank Jesus for this amazing son!

A Part Of Homeschooling Daily Routines :)

Another picture of our daily routines. Music Training! As shown, Kaleb with his Daddy are fingering. Kaleb is so attached to this piano/keyboard and he is now able to play some songs.

A lesson to learn: children loves music! Don't take that away from them.

The Fun Of Homeschooling! (With picture)

This is a recent picture of Kaleb, studying Math, Science and English. As he made his promise to finish the subjects he determined to do so. You can tell from that look on his face :)

What I've learned from this is: children can be taught to be responsible as long as you explain and encourage them.
